Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained as needed to answer it. We keep messages within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical information when a page loads:
- Page-view dates, times, and duration
- Browser type and version
- Device and operating-system details
- The pages viewed during the visit
- A referring website, when one exists
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. Together with analytics services, they help measure traffic patterns, popular pages, and points where visitors leave. You may block cookies through the browser, although some functions may then behave differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search request to the selected partner
- Maintaining site availability and performance
- Finding and correcting technical faults
- Measuring which pages visitors use
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We neither compile nor sell a database of personal criminal records. The content identifies official Box Elder County sources, including sheriff Records, Utah courts, the Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification, and the Utah Sex, Kidnap, and Child Abuse Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into a report about any third party.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. A partner's privacy policy, retention rules, and disclosure practices govern data entered there. Review those terms before submitting a query because we do not control them.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff pages, Utah court portals, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once you leave, the destination's privacy policy controls. Read it before providing personal data.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to follow activity across websites and select targeted ads.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners that process submitted queries
- Advertising networks placing ads on the pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Standard security measures are used to protect collected data. No internet system can be guaranteed secure, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
The Utah Consumer Privacy Act, Utah Code Title 13, Chapter 61, may provide additional rights when its coverage rules apply. At a minimum, you may:
- Request access to personal information held about you
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Seek deletion of your personal data
- Opt out of processing where applicable
Updates to This Policy
We may revise the policy. A new version becomes available here with an updated effective date, so review it periodically for changes.
